We are living in a time when one job is no longer enough. Costs continue to rise, stability is uncertain, and many systems were never designed to fully value us as consumers or creators. Because of that, we have to build differently and create opportunities of our own.
Create and Publish Your Own Journal was designed to show you how to turn your ideas into a real, tangible product that people use every day. Journals are timeless. Writers, creatives, professionals, and everyday people purchase them year after year, yet many of us rarely find journals that truly reflect how we think or want to write.
In this course, you will learn how to create the journal you want to see and publish it on a widely trusted platform where people are already buying. Instead of relying on large corporations to decide what belongs on the shelves, you will learn how to design, format, and publish your own journal on Amazon KDP.
This course is about ownership. It is about creating something meaningful, sharing it with a community that connects with it, and building an additional stream of income from your ideas. You will leave with a published journal and a clear understanding of how to continue creating journals that reflect your voice and perspective.
This is about more than a journal. It is about building something of your own.
Course Syllabus
Designing Your Journal in Canva & Publishing Your Journal on Amazon KDP
Wednesdays, February 18, 2026 | 7–9 p.m. EST
During Weeks 1 and 2, we will focus on designing your journal from start to finish using Canva. This includes both the cover and the interior pages of your journal.
This portion of the course is highly technical and hands-on. We will walk through page sizing, margins, layout, and formatting to ensure your journal meets Amazon KDP’s requirements and is approved for publishing. You will build your journal in real time, with guidance on structure, consistency, and usability.
We will also explore optional tools such as ChatGPT and MidJourney to help generate journal concepts, prompts, and visual elements. These tools will support the creative process while keeping the final design aligned with KDP standards.
During week 2, we will walk through the process of uploading your completed journal to Amazon KDP. We will cover how to properly submit your interior and cover files, set your pricing, and complete the publishing steps required for approval.
By the end of this session, you will have submitted your journal for approval and have a clear understanding of how to move forward once your journal is published.

Instructor

Sydney Bryant
Creative Producer
My name is Sydney Bryant, and I am a marketing strategist based in Atlanta, Georgia, with more than 10 years of experience working in corporate marketing and e-commerce. I earned my bachelor’s degree from Savannah State University and my master’s degree in mass communication from Georgia State University.
During the pandemic, I realized how quickly stability can disappear and how important it is to have more than one source of income. As I transitioned into remote work, I began applying my corporate marketing skills to my own ideas by building websites, e-commerce platforms, and digital products I genuinely enjoyed.
Using the same strategies I developed over the past decade, I generated more than $100k in revenue from my own products, creating a sustainable and consistent stream of income outside of corporate work.
Today, I teach because I believe the traditional path is not the only option. My goal is to help others turn their ideas into real products, build ownership, and create income streams that support the life they want to live.
